Alice Anderson Obituary

Alice J. Elder Anderson
Delran - Alice J. Elder Anderson of Delran, formerly of Palmyra, passed away quietly at home on April 3. She was 89.
She lived a happy life with her husband Philip at Rainbow Meadow Farm, now Laurel Run Park. Alice managed the farm market, and loved the many friends she made there. But most of all she loved her home, children, and grandchildren. She hoped to be remembered as a kind and caring person. Her loved ones know this is far too modest.
Alice and Phil were married 66 years. They managed to frequently make Florida their winter home, and also traveled to Canada, Hawaii, and many other places. In 2003 Alice and her daughter went to London; this trip shaped the rest of her life. It renewed her lifelong curiosity and appreciation for history, and informed much of her reading.
She enjoyed game shows, telling stories, self-deprecating jokes. But she was happiest when listening, learning, and helping others. She loved discussing books with her older grandson, and countless people can attest to her quiet charity. But she wouldn't use that word. Alice understood life is hard, and you never know what others are up against. So she showed everyone equal love and care.
Alice is survived by her children: Raymond (Cheryl) of Delran; Leigh (Jack) of Mt. Laurel; and Bryan (Faith) of Delran; her grandsons Justin Sherin (Miranda) of New York City; and Bryan Anderson, Jr.; step-grandchildren Chelsea, Randy, Angela, and Christopher; sister Joan Schaeffer, of Jupiter, FL, and many nieces and nephews.
Phil predesceased her, as did her siblings Marylou Kieffer, Horace Elder, William Elder, Robert Elder, and Jerry Elder.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North, on Saturday, April 10, from 9:30 - 11 am. Her service will begin at 11 am, with the burial to follow at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson. A livestream will be available at https://my.gather.app/remember/alice-june-anderson; please consider your own safety before attending.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church, Cinnaminson; Deborah Hospital; or Samaritan Hospice.
