JUNE MARY BARKYOUMB - ST. ALBANS - On Aug. 18, 2012, June Mary (Dansereau) Barkyoumb passed after a brief illness, at her peaceful lakeside home of over 50 years. After a valiant fight against cancer, June was able to stay where she loved most, the shores of Lake Champlain. June was born on June 12, 1932, in St. Albans, the daughter of Arthur and Susie Dansereau. June married Kenneth Barkyoumb Sr., who predeceased her in July of 2000. She had three children, Cindy O'Neill of Plano, Texas, Dale (David) Barrette of Highgate and Bruce (Sue) Lord of St. Albans. Her parents and her three brothers, Frederick Niles, Robert and Lloyd Dansereau, predeceased her. June is also survived by her stepson, Kenneth (Diane) Barkyoumb Jr. and their children, Andrew and Michelle; her grandchildren, Sean and Marcy O'Neill, Kasey and Jon Crist, Kory Barrette, Mason and Tabitha Lord and Kylie and Kyle Ashton; and her great-grandchildren, Connor and Ethan O'Neill, Mackenzie Ashton and Callum Lord. June is also survived by her dear friends, (honorary pallbearers), the "Monday Night" card girls, Sue, Betty, Alice, Elaine, Patty, Hilda and her cherished friend, Louise, who supported her throughout her illness; and her beloved lakeshore friends. June enjoyed an active and busy life working at Montgomery Ward, JC Penney and Fonda Container, all in St. Albans. Her hobbies were trips to the casinos, a sharp Monday night poker game with the girls and relaxing in the breeze working in her flowerbeds on the West Shore of Lake Champlain and at her home in uptown St. Albans. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main St., St. Albans. Private messages of condolence to the Barkyoumb family are welcome at www.healdfuneralhome.com. Donations in June's memory may be made to the Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, VT 05478.
