CLINTON S. NORRIS - HINESBURG - On Sunday, May 12, 2013, the world lost an amazing young man. Clint passed away from injuries he sustained in an ATV accident at the age of 16. We are saddened beyond belief that he will miss out on the wonders of the world that we knew were in store for him. Clint was in his sophomore year at CVU, he was incredibly outgoing, caring and sensitive, the bonds he made with people were deep and very meaningful to him. His true nature was evident in the wide range of people he considered dear friends, from his young cousins who sought time on his lap, piggyback rides or a game of tag, to the less fortunate than himself who he took great personal interest in to learn more about them. To all ages of adults, parents of his friends, elderly customers at Lantman's who he'd give a shout out to in the parking lot and they would return a hearty wave and smile to him. He had a keen sense of insincerity in others and thought and talked about it. He was developing the wisdom to understand those people and never stopped trying to win them over. His sister, Natalie, could not once resist laughing at her brother's antics, usually followed by an eye roll or chasing him with a garden hose. The loyalty between Clint and Natalie was always strong and heartfelt. For everyone who met Clint, they quickly realized that he truly enjoyed making people smile. What you might not know is that it started from a very early age: the pre-school days of dancing and making funny faces and voices while using the dining room floor as his stage after dinner, his Jim Carrey impressions as he got a little older to finding so many small and mundane daily things to smile and laugh about. He truly enjoyed his job at Lantman's and used that opportunity to expand his friendships beyond the peers of his school years to the many adults he met there. Many have commented on what a kind, respectful and wonderful young man he was and we very much appreciate you taking the time to say so. So many have shared their Clint stories with us. Last summer when he worked at Johansen's stables (we all knew that getting paid was just the icing on the cake), coming home with dark circles under his eyes to find out he let his friend's younger sister put makeup on him, finding out what we were having for dinner then paying his Uncle Bob and Aunt Jen a visit to see if they were having something better. Clint is survived by his father and mother, Alan and Nancy Norris; his adoring sister and best bud, Natalie; half-brother, Mathew Norris, Starksboro (he called Clint "Bubba"); half-sister, Melissa Norris, New Haven (Dakota and Violet); maternal grandparents, Thomas and Betty Lian, Fair Haven; paternal grandmother, Betty Norris, New Haven; paternal stepgrandmother, Rachael Norris, Starksboro; aunts, uncles, cousins: Kathy and David Mitchell, Harwick (Andrew and Sam); Jennifer and Scott Myrick, Bristol; Robert and Jennifer Lian, Hinesburg (Thomas and Holly); Bonita and David Bedard, Starksboro (Kristie, Shawna and Sheri); Cookie and Fran Jennings, Starksboro (Amie, Sara and Eric); Kelly and Kathy Norris, Starksboro (Amelia and Leah); numerous second, third and fourth cousins and great aunts and uncles; his loving girlfriend, Sierra Pelino, and her family, TJ and Pam Pelino and Marissa, South Burlington; and his constant four-legged companion, Oscar. He leaves behind many close friends from HCS that continue to be strong bonds and the wealth of new friends he made in the two years at CVU. Clint was predeceased by his grandfather, Mahlon Norris. We would like to thank our dear friends and neighbors, Pam and Kurt Reynolds, Rusty and Melissa Nicholson, Dale and Joanne Wernhoff, Scott and Kim Johansen, Matt and Melody Minor and their families for your warm compassion and the many years of sharing your families with ours. A celebration of Clint's life will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2013, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Old Lantern in Charlotte. Contributions in Clint's memory may be made to the following organizations: Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 114 Perimeter Rd., Unit G&H, Nashua, NH 03063; Kid's Rehab Gym, Colchester (tax free donations) www.kidsrehabgym.com; or Center For Donation & Transplant, 218 Great Oaks Blvd., Albany, NY 12203, 518-262-5606 or 800-256-7811.

Dear Al, Nancy and Natalie,
I am very saddened to learn about Clint. I taught art at HCS and had Clint from kindergarten through 8th grade. I can still remember how complex and unique his art work was, and how much humor he put into it, especially as he got older. You and the world have lost a such a special person. My thoughts are with you.

I worked with Clinton at Lantman's since the fall. He always seemed to be in a great mood, and it truly lightened everyone's day. He was such a fun person to have at work, and the work day will without a doubt be hard to get through without his humor. Rest in peace, Clinton

The world lost a very special soul, I have had hundreds of kids throughout my 22 years of owning a riding stable, and let me say, Clint was one of the special ones. He was a very important part of the barn. My kids loved him so much. Clint was their little brother. He mattered so much to so many. Clint was just such a part of our family, ever since he was a little boy and would walk over to watch David ride his dirtbike. He just captured all of our hearts, He will be missed more than words can explain. Nancy and Alan, you raised a good boy who had a heart of gold, and know that when he was here, he was loved. Thank you for sharing him with us, there will never be anyone like him. I just can't believe he won't be sitting in the shop, barn or around the table with us this summer. I am so sorry for your loss. I wish there were words that could express what a true loss this is for so many people. Rest in peace sweet Clint. You were loved and will be missed.
