BENJAMIN A. YOUNG - FAIRFAX - Benjamin Austin Young, 93, a lifelong resident of Fairfax and retired farmer, passed away at Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012. He was born in Fairfield on March 29, 1919, son of the late William Joseph and Clyda Mae (Austin) Young. Ben was a charter member of the Fairfax Fire Department, dedicating 20 years of services. He had also been a local school bus driver for 32 years. Ben will be missed by all those who had the true pleasure to know and love him. He is survived by two sons, Lawrence Young and wife, Barbara, of Fairfax; Robert Young and wife, Marlene Tillery, of Fletcher; daughter, Barbara Young of Fairfax; special sister-in-law, Ruth Burleson of Fairfax; sister, Beverly Lahane and husband, Eugene, of Hinsdale, N.H.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ben was also predeceased by his wife, Theresa; daughter, Sandra Zeno; two brothers, George and William; four sisters, Luna Wilkins, Martha Benjamin, Audrey Moore and Ina Gilson. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the special and loving staff of the Redstone Villa including Heather, Cindy, Amanda, Debbie, Renee, Penny and Haley. Per Ben's wishes there will be no visiting hours held. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. Luke Church in Fairfax, and concelebrated by the Reverend John Feltz and the Reverend Soosai Raj.
