FRANCIS RALPH SUMNER - BRISTOL - Francis Ralph Sumner, 80, passed away Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. He was born July 6, 1933, in Bristol, the son of George and Alma (Naylor) Sumner. He was a truck driver and spent 13 years driving school bus for Betcha Transit. He was a member of Bristol American Legion Post #19, and was a past Commander. He was also a member of Libanus Masonic Lodge #47 in Bristol, and past patron of Order of Eastern Star Libanus Lodge Chapter #47. He loved to travel and go camping. Francis is survived by his wife of 26 years, Alice Sumner; three daughters, Holly and Rick Condon of Elizabethtown, Ky., Connie Tanguay of Bristol, N.H., and Sandra and Douglas Brown of Bristol; and son, Daniel and Cathy Boyer of Bristol. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 14, 2104, at Libanus Masonic Lodge #47 in Bristol. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Libanus Masonic Lodge #47 Scholarship Fund or Eastern Star Scholarship Fund, Attn. Dick Merrill, 85 North 116 Road, Bristol, VT 05443.
