JEAN EDWARDS WICKART - MORRISVILLE - Jean Edwards Wickart passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 19, 2013. She was born on March 6th, in Norfolk, Va., daughter of Lillian (Savage) and Philip H. Edwards. She graduated from Granby High School in Norfolk, Va., and Endicott Jr. College in Beverly, Mass. On March 30, 1957, she married the love of her life, Roman Walter Wickart, who predeceased her on Oct. 24, 1993. Together they started the Morrisville Jr. Ski Program, in 1967, which she facilitated to this day. Jean loved to see all the children learn how to ski. She was dedicated in so many ways in serving her community, which included President of the Women's Club, 1969 to 1973; Morristown Planning Commission, 1975 to 1986; and the Development Review Board, 1986 to 2013. She also served on the State 4-H Foundation Board. In 1980, Roman and Jean purchased P.H. Edwards Furniture in Hyde Park, and she continued running the business to this day. Jean was an original member of the Stowe Tennis Club. She was an amazingly caring and loving mother and grandmother to her family and ever expanding group of dear friends. Jean loved to have long and spirited conversations with family, friends and the greater community. She was a lifelong lover of classical music and enjoyed spending time with her favorite pianist, Judith, and good friend, Sue, and the Voices for All Seasons Choir. She was an avid reader, was very patriotic and loved this country and the independent ideals it stands for. Jean is survived by her daughters, Susan and husband, Lyman Clark, of Williston, and Debora and husband, Stanley Biasini, of Morristown; four grandchildren, Shelby, Ian and Adele Biasini, and Timothy Clark; stepgrandchildren, Schuyler Biasini, Nicole and Corey Clark; and a beloved stepbrother, Raymond Hempfer of Norfolk, Va. Calling hours will be on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, from 6 to 8 p..m at the White-Fiess Funeral Home, 165 Brooklyn St., Morrisville, and the funeral service will be held at the Stowe Community Church on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Morristown Jr. Ski Program, via the Union Bank; the Lupus Foundation, 57 So.
