ROBERT WARREN DETENBECK - SHELBURNE - Robert Warren Detenbeck, 80, died on Aug. 8, 2013, in the Arbors, in Shelburne. He was born in Buffalo, New York, to Frederick and Elfrieda Fell Detenbeck. He attended Kenmore grade and high schools. He received his B.S. degree in physics at the University of Rochester and his Ph.D. in physics at Princeton University. He was married to Jeanne Carol Hann in 1954. His research field was experimental physics done at both University of Maryland for eight years and University of Vermont until his retirement in 1995. But his real love was teaching students, and for this he was recognized with an award for his teaching at Maryland and the George V. Kidder Outstanding Faculty Award in 1995 from UVM. Bob leaves his wife, Jeanne, of 59 years; two daughters, Christina Hamilton and Naomi Detenbeck; and grandchildren, Katherine and Steven Hamilton. For over three years he was at home in The Arbors, receiving loving care for which the family is grateful. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Stephen C.
