ROBERTA G. LaCROIX - BURLINGTON - Roberta G. LaCroix, 79, of Burlington, died at the Haven in the Lodge at Shelburne Bay, on Dec. 25, 2012, with her family at her side. She was born in Hardwick on July 11, 1933, daughter of Ernest and Cordelia (Cyr) Gilbert. She married Donald LaCroix at St. Joseph Church on Oct. 9, 1954. Their marriage of 58 years was an inspiration to everyone around them. Roberta was a longtime member of St. Joseph Co-Cathedral. She had done many hours of volunteer work at St. Joseph's School, the Wardrobe Thrift Store, and the canteen at the Red Cross. Roberta was dedicated to her children, and enjoyed a very close and loving relationship with her four grandchildren. She was artistic, creative, and took pleasure in her flower gardens, and decorating her home with just the right touches. She is survived by her devoted husband, Donald LaCroix; her children and their spouses, Denise and Michael Brault of Burlington, and Donald and Irene LaCroix of Essex; her grandchildren, Justin Brault, Sarah Hodgson and her husband, Matthew, and Amanda and Allison LaCroix; her siblings and their spouses, Ernest and Bong Gilbert of Leesville, La., Lee and Nancy Gilbert of Burlington, Lloyd and Sandra Gilbert of Milton, Gordon and Margaret Gilbert of Burlington; her brother-in-law, Joseph Riley of New Port Richey, Fla.; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Thelma and Robert Kaigle of South Burlington; and several nieces and nephews. Roberta was predeceased by her sister, Mae Riley. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Haven at Shelburne Bay for their excellent, and compassionate care during Roberta's stay with them. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral. A reception will be held in the parish hall immediately after the Mass. Interment will take place at New Mt. Calvary Cemetery at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday. There will be no visiting hours. Arrangements are by Boucher and Pritchard Funeral Directors.
