Leonard Jarvis Obituary

Leonard John Jarvis

Colchester - Leonard John Jarvis, of Colchester, Vermont passed away on March 29, 2020. He now rests in peace in the loving arms of his Heavenly Father. Leonard was born on February 27, 1938, to Harvey and Flora Jarvis. He grew up in Winooski, Vermont where he graduated from Winooski High School in 1956. He married his high school sweetheart, Joan Cauchon Jarvis, in 1957 and had six children. Leonard proudly served in the Air National Guard for 26 years and retired a Master Sergeant.

Leonard loved sports! He played baseball in his younger years and was a devoted Yankee's fan. He loved to watch football and hockey as well. He especially enjoyed watching his son play hockey. He also loved nature, gardening, camping, food, and spending time barbecuing and enjoying the pool with his family. He was a kind, caring man with a big heart, who took great pleasure in helping others. A very hard worker, Leonard often worked two or more jobs at a time to provide for his family. He was known and loved by many, and will be missed by all.

Leonard is predeceased by his parents, Harvey and Flora Jarvis, his brother Harold Jarvis, his sisters Lorraine Poplawski, Rena Houle, Theresa Meunier, and Claire Simoneau; his former wife, Joan Cauchon Jarvis and his daughter, Karen Jarvis.

He is survived by his brother Gerald Jarvis, sister Connie Perrotte; his children Mark Jarvis, Judy Jarvis, Brad Jarvis, Cheryl Jarvis Wittmann, and Scott Jarvis; and many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mark, it saddened me to read of the loss of your father. He was a very kind man, who always went out of his way to be sure to be home in time to unload his truck, so that the band could use it on weekend gigs. May GOD provide you and the others in your family the emotional strength necessary to cope with your loss.
