AMELIA GRACE SPERRY SOUTH BURLINGTON - Amelia Grace Sperry was born in Burlington on May 27, 2004, the daughter of Karen and Tyler Sperry. She attended Footprints Preschool and the Orchard School. She was a kindergarten student in Mr. Pecor's class. Amelia lived such a full life in her few short years with us. Life was a gift she did not waste. She loved being outdoors - swimming, sledding, skiing, playing t-ball, just running around with her five cousins and little friends. She especially loved to ride her bike. After dinner or on rainy days, she would concentrate on her latest craft project, draw and paint, and dress up as a fairy. She cooked and baked with her parents and believed in magic and Santa Claus. She was learning to read and write and was already a math whiz. She had bright blue eyes, the longest lashes, the sweetest smile and was so very tall for her age. Her favorite colors were pink and purple (with lots of sparkles). She seems so fragile now, but she certainly wasn't. She always saw the humor in life's silly moments - she was full of giggles and even a little mischief. She made us remember what it is like to be young and excited about discovering new things. Her spirit will always be with us - as we take a turn on the slopes of Bolton Valley, dive into Lake Champlain (with swim goggles, of course), slip down a steep water slide, paint our nails, play the piano, bake a pizza, throw a frisbee, go for a boat ride, read Winnie The Pooh, skip rope with our friends, pick blueberries and apples, and ride our bikes down the lovely roads of Vermont- where she was born and gave us so much joy, laughter and love. Amelia is survived by her loving parents, Karen and Tyler Sperry of South Burlington; her grandparents, Susan and Mark Sperry of South Burlington, and Erica Lindemann of Steamboat Springs, Colo.; her Aunt Abigail Sperry and her husband, Alejandro Torrens, and their children, Sasha and Gabriela of Shelburne; her Aunt Julia Sperry and her husband, James Sandberg, of South Burlington; her Uncle Mark Lindemann of Park City, Utah; and her Uncle Dwight Sperry and his wife, Marieke, and their children, Rose, Violet, and Oliver of Norwich. She was predeceased by her grandfather, Klaus Lindemann. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 29 at 1 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church at the top of Church Street. All are welcome to attend. Contributions may be made in memory of Amelia to the Orchard Community Helpers at the Orchard School, 2 Baldwin Avenue, South Burlington, VT 05403. Arrangements are in the care of the Ready Funeral & Cremation Service, Burlington. To send online condolences to the family please visit
