Age: 99

Arthur was born April 15, 1918, in Carroll, NH the son of Joseph & Elizabeth Bourassa. Arthur grew up in NH. Where he worked for the NH highway Dept. in Franconia, before entering the US Army in 1940 where he served as an Antiaircraft gunner with the 210th Artillery Battalion. WW II Arthur participated in the Papaun, New Guinea, & Philippine Campaigns. After serving his country. Arthur met his wife Irene and they were married in NH. In 1946, Arthur & his family moved to VT where he worked in the furniture business of Green Mt. Industries, & VT Furniture. For many years, after retiring, Art still continued to work as a handy man doing small jobs for longtime friend Frank Donath & many others. Art could fix & build almost anything. Master Electrician, Plumber, Welder, Carpenter. Art loved the outdoors hunting, fishing, splitting fire wood & working around the yard and being with his family, and his grandkids were his greatest joy.

Arthur was preceded by his Wife, Irene, of 65 years in 2010, & Daughter, Dorene Couturier, in 2011.

Arthur is survived by his Daughter, Joanne Ploesser and her Husband Steve; Son in-law, Bill Couturier; 3 grandchildren: Jessica, Alex & Nicholas; and 2 Great Grandsons, Wyatt & David Ploesser.

We would like to thank the Staff & Nurses at Our Lady of Providence Retirement home and hospice for their tender love and care for Art and the friendship they showed him while he was there.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Resurrection Park Cemetery on Hinesburg Rd., South Burlington. There are no calling hours.
