Age: 48 • Burlington

Arthur Joseph Cushion Jr., 48, of Burlington passed away peacefully at the UVM Medical Center on Sat., Sept. 23, 2017 with his family by his side.

He was born in Burlington on Aug. 10, 1969 the son of Arthur Joseph Cushion Sr. and Mona Lee (Rouille) Cushion. Art attended schools in Winooski. He started his work career at the Redemption Center in Winooski and then worked for LaVallee & Roy in Winooski for 20 years. He worked as a machinist for Lane Press for 10 years.

He loved restoring classic cars, bike riding, outdoor life, watching sunsets at Leddy Park, and most of all he loved spending time with his mom, dad, family and friends. He was a kind-hearted gentle person and would do anything for someone in need.

He is survived by two daughters, Lauren Ticehurst of Plattsburgh and Kayla Cushion of Fairfax; his mother, Mona Cushion of Burlington; two sisters Christine Cushion and Bonnie Lee, both of Burlington; his nieces and nephews, Crystal Cushion and Richard Gonyea, Christopher Ward and Maddison Ward; several great nieces; great nephews and cousins, including Leona Mills and her sons; his dear friends, David Bouchard, Gloria and Rodney Bolio, Wally of Hall's Hitches and Dennis Raymond of E & E Tire.

Arthur was predeceased by his father, Arthur Cushion Sr. (whose obituary also appears today) on Dec. 1, 2016.

Visiting hours for Arthur and his father will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30 in the Boucher and Pritchard Funeral Home, 85 N. Winooski Ave., Burlington. Son and father will both be honored at a funeral service at 3 p.m. at the funeral home during the visiting hours.

Both will be greatly missed by their family and friends.
