She married Don Jenkins in 1960, settling in South Burlington where they raised their family. Years later they moved to Bolton Valley living on the mountain in a home they had built. Liz passed away after a brief illness while living at the Arbors in Shelburne. She lived a full life with her husband Don Jenkins. Together they raised three sons; Donald Jr (Burlington), George (Richmond) and Peter (Jackson Wyoming). They also played a significant role in the upbringing of two grandson's, Christopher and Tyler. Many others have expressed the positive influence Liz and Don had in their lives, more than one stating, I am a better person for having had them in my life.

Additionally, she leaves behind her third grandson, Parker, son of Pete and wife Christine. Her sister Janet and husband John Bossi, brother Ernest Sheltry, nieces; Linda Sheltry, Elisabeth Bossi, Barbara Moore, Susan Thibeault, Joann Stich and nephew Ernest Sheltry Jr. From Don's family; brother in-law Richard and wife Nina Jenkins, nieces and nephews; Chris Jenkins, Turney Munson, Susan Luba, Kevin Jenkins, Kent Jenkins. There are many grand-nieces and nephews on both sides of the family and friends from her long life too.
