While Mike was a few years younger, I was close to Tom growing up in the same neighborhood and always remember Mike smiling. Sometimes he just seemed happy and sometimes he seemed like he just got away with something. I'm sure he packed a lot of life in his 46 years. I choose to remember Mike's smile and I hope others do as well.

Mike was one of those guys who seemed to always be there and was everybody's friend...I knew him from first grade at Chamberlin School through high school. I probably knew him best through football ('82 state champs!) and art class. I'm sorry I lost track of him from college onward...I know he will be missed by many.

I am so truly saddened by the loss of such a wonderful outgoing man. Michael always had a smile on his face and a smile for everyone he met. I am very blessed to have been part of this wonderful family at one time. The love you all have for each other is a very special thing and will help keep you all going in your time of great sorrow. Trish, Michael was a very kind man who loved his mother and family. You did a great job bringing up your children.
They all know what family and love is all about because you taught them to be good respectable members of the community.
Michael has all that and would not want his family and especially you with a broken heart.

I went to SBHS with Mike - he was '81 and I was '82. In the sharkfest known as high school, Mike was one of those rare individuals. He always had a smile and a kind word for everyone - whether you were a jock, a geek, a stoner or a beauty queen. I haven't seen Mike since I left Vermont but he is a person that once you met him, you didn't forget him. To his family, I know what it's like to lose someone so quickly and tragically. Please don't remember how he died but rather how he lived and continue to pass that on. I think the Mike that I remember would want us all to smile at his memory and pass his good cheer and optimism along to others in our lives.
My thoughts are with all of you.

ECI is deeply saddened by Mike's passing, particularly since our company has had such a close relationship with Trenchless Technologies and both Mike and Tom at a personal level. It hits close to home when such a tragic accident happens with to an individual that we know, at company that performs the same type of work as we do, and a family business like ours.
His death is a reminder to us all of the dangers we face everyday working around heavy equipment, in particular, the high torque drilling equipment. We can never be too cautious and we should never become complacent around heavy equipment.

Tom and Family: Growing up with Tom and Mike was good times. Tom was always quick to include his younger brother Mike. I remember Mike as a great guy, who was always smiling. I remember Tom the same way and wish that after the grief subsides that Tom and family can honor Mike by smiling again and living life like Mike would want them to. My sincerest sympathies.

Growing up with Darlene, Ashlee and Alisha, i always referred to him as Uncle Mike. He was an easy going fun person to be around, and as kids i remember always having fun with him and little Mike.

Very sad news. I ran into Mike several times while I was on leave in the Navy and he always greeted me with a handshake and a smile. Solid guy with a heart of gold. Even though it has been many years since I last saw Mike it was very sad news to hear. He was a great Rebel football teammate and a good man to have a few beers with. You'll be missed Mike. I only knew Mike for a short time, but was sure glad to have met him, I know everyone benefited from his beautiful smile, he sure could light up a room. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in So.Burlington and did more in contributing his time for our club than we will have time to thank him for, our new deck, our bar rail that your feet stand on, helping with pig roasts and etc. May God embrace you and allow you to touch us from above, we will miss you dearly.
