R. WARREN MARSH Obituary

R. WARREN MARSH JR. - JERICHO - Warren Marsh, 71, died of lung cancer on Thursday April 30, 2015, at home. He was born on April 30, 1944, in Arlington, Mass., son of R. Warren Marsh Sr. and Vivian Gordon Marsh. Warren spent his youth in Williamsville, N.Y., and graduated from Williamsville Central High School in 1962. He was a member of the first graduating class of Niagara County Community College in 1965. He majored in electronics technology. He worked at General Electric in Burlington for 14 years. Then he worked for IBM in Essex Junction for 14 years. His lifelong interest and expertise was in electronics. He once had a home business repairing VCRs for a local video store. A few years prior to his retirement he studied massage therapy and owned Tranquility Massage in the Jericho area for many years. He had been a member of the Vermont Massage Guild. He was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed. Warren was a member of the Covenant Community Church of Essex. He was also a founding member and elder in the Circle of the Triple Goddess. His interest in genealogy, shared with his wife, led to a membership in the General Society of Mayflower Descendants. He was also a member of the Vermont Historical Society, Middletown Springs Historical Society, and the Southern Poverty Law Center. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Alice Blakely; his son, Brian Blakely Marsh; and daughter, Karen Blakely Marsh. He is also survived by his sister, Marilyn Marsh of Williamsville, N.Y., and his sister, Beverly Marsh Geyer and her husband, Douglas, also of Williamsville, N.Y. His mother-in-law, Vera Blakely of Orwell, Vt., also survives him. Inurnment ceremony will be held at the Mountain View Cemetery in Orwell on Sunday, May 3, 2015, at 2 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Covenant Community Church, 1 Whitcomb Meadows Lane, Essex Junction, on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at 2 p.m. The family also invites you to share your memories and condolences by visiting www.awrfh.com. I worked with Warren at IBM on a couple of projects; he was very thorough and at the top of his profession and well respected. My condolences to the family and friends.

We are sorry to hear of Warren's passing. I know he was a friend of my father, Wayne Alexander, when they worked together at GE.
I also remember babysitting for Warren and his family when they lived in Jericho.
