Elmire Laroche

Age: 100 • Schenectady, New York

Elmire Duguay Laroche of Kingsway Arms, in Schenectady New York, passed away on October 2, 2017 at the age of 100. She was born on May 3, 1917 in St. Methode, Quebec Canada to the late Irene Duguay and Anna D'allaire. She was one of 13 children.

On April 6th 1940, she married Paul Laroche and in 1948, with 5 children in tow, they bought a farm and moved to Bridport, Vermont. They had 3 more children and spent the next 30 years farming.

In the late 60s, they sold the farm and moved to Burlington, Vermont. Mom and Dad loved to spend their winters in Pompano Beach, Florida at their second home. She loved to go dancing and play cards with their friends in Florida.

She was predeceased by her husband, Paul, in 2006 after 65 years of marriage, her son, Michael, in 2006 and her daughter, Lucie, in 2017. She is survived by her 6 remaining children: Yvon and his wife, Marianne, (Sheehan), Gilles and his wife, Jeanne, (Quesnel), Rene and his wife, Anne (Schreck), Francine Cole and her husband, Gary, Diane Roberts, Richard and his partner, Debbie Fulwider, and her daughter-in-law, Linda Bissonette Laroche, 20 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

We wish to thank all the nurses and aids on C wing of Kingsway for taking such good care of our mother.

There will be no calling hours. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Red Cross or a charity of your choice.
