Margaret McDougall Obituary

Margaret Mary (Orr) McDougall
Margaret Mary (Orr) McDougall, 85, of Pine Township, Grove City, died peacefully at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a brief illness.
One of eight children, she was born on Aug. 9, 1927, in Harrisville to Raymond L. and Elda M. Critchlow Orr.
She married Keith E. McDougall in the Harrisville United Methodist Church on June 25, 1949, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 2005.
Margaret was a member of the East Main Presbyterian Church, the Presbyterian Women's Association, the Harrisville Community Club and the Friendly Home and Arts Club in Pine Township. Formerly she was a member of the Pine Township Council of Republican Women, the Mercer County Extension Board and the Home Economics Advisory Committee in the 1970s.
Previously, she worked at Cooper-Bessemer, Kroger's and Grove City Schools.
Margaret was a homemaker devoted to her family and especially enjoyed her four grandchildren. She hosted and organized many family reunions and gatherings. She frequently shared her homemade bread, pies and cookies with her family and many close friends.
Margaret made quilts including one for each of her children and grandchildren. With her sister, Edith, she compiled five family histories. She enjoyed sewing weekends with her sister, nieces and friends and visits to Clear Creek State Park.
Margaret and Keith participated in the 4th Infantry Division Association activities, square dancing and travel.
Survivors include one son, Edward L. McDougall and his wife, Janet, of Grove City; one daughter, Margaret J. (Peggy) Grande of Grove City; four grandchildren, Jill M. McDougall of Winter Springs, Fla., Thomas E. McDougall, Andrew C. Grande and wife, Melissa, and Whitney N. Grande, all of Grove City; and one sister, Edith O. McGhee and her husband, Robert, of Mercer. Three brothers-in-law, Robert Bovard of Grove City, Clayton McDougall of Columbus, Ohio, and Lynn McDougall and his wife, Felicie, of Richmond, Ind.; four sisters-in-law, Marian Orr of Greenville, Ruth McDougall of Grove City and Jean and Joyce McDougall, both Cocoa Beach, Fla.; and 26 nieces and nephews also survive.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four sisters, Mila Bovard, Lois NeSmith, Alice A. Cook and Elda Mae Hockenberry; two brothers, William P. and John R. Orr; and three nieces and a nephew.
McDougall - Visitation hours for Margaret Mary (Orr) McDougall, who died Tuesday, July 16, 2013, will be at the Cunningham Funeral Home, Grove City, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Bill Hoffman, pastor of the East Main Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be at Harmony Cemetery, Harrisville.
Memorials in Margaret's memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
