Regis I. Schiebel, 86, of Cabot, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

Born Oct. 4, 1934, in Butler County, he was the son of Harry Schiebel and Lillian Thoma Schiebel

Rege graduated from Slippery Rock State College and received his master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

Rege started his career at Knoch High School as a math teacher. But most will remember him as the Knoch High School assistant principal until 1993, and the "Voice of Knoch High School" as the only stadium announcer at Knoch until his retirement just a few years ago. Mr. Schiebel has been the Knights' biggest fan both at sporting events and in the classroom.

He had served as the president of the South Butler County School District Scholarship Foundation, which annually awards thousands of dollars in scholarships and loans that allow Knoch graduates to further their education.

Mr. Schiebel is also a member of the Knoch High School Sports Hall of Fame Committee. In 2016, he was inducted into the Knoch Sports Hall of Fame. He was a trustee emeritus of the Knoch Knights Legacies Foundation, past board member of Slippery Rock University Foundation, he served on the Butler County Hall of Fame board of directors, a board member of the Butler County YMCA, he was a member of the Butler County Rotary and a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church in Cabot.

Surviving are his nieces and nephews, James Beggs of Sarver, Donald Beggs of Butler, Jacqueline Beadle of Pittsburgh, Terry Schiebel of Millvale, David Schiebel of Butler and Lexie Stamper of Cranberry Township.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Leo Schiebel and one sister, Evelyn Beggs

Schiebel - Visitation for Regis I. Schiebel, who died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020, will be private. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the St. Joseph R.C. Church in Cabot.

Rege was one of the only people I knew that I would smile at prior to him talking. He was such a joy and a sincere soul. I will miss seeing his rose colored cheeks when he would smile along with those baby blues that would sparkle just a little after he would say something in his Rege way!

A fantastic human being. Not only was he my principal but also my fellow parishioner in my youth. Not only did he leave an indelible impression on anyone he met, he made it a personal mission to be actively interested in you as a person. He remembered you and was interested in you long after you left school. I will be grateful always for him to be a part of my life.
