Evelyn L. Gandy

Evelyn L. Gandy, 88, of Evans City passed away Thursday at VNA Inpatient Hospice.
She was born May 5, 1929, in Evans City, and was the daughter of the late Paul D. Jones Sr. and Thelma (Rice) Jones.
Evelyn attended Crestview Presbyterian Church.
She went to Geneva College. After attending college, she took a job teaching for the Southwest Butler County School District. It later became the Seneca Valley School District. She went from teaching to the administration office, where she worked in the accounting and payroll department. She was the school board secretary for many years, totaling 34 years of service.
Evelyn was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years.
Surviving are two sons, Max (Cathy) Gandy of Callery and Joron (Tawnya) Gandy of Connoquenessing; four grandchildren, Tyler, Cody, Kyle and Kaleb Gandy; and a brother, Carl Jones of Zelienople.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John M. Gandy, who died July 4, 2014; and a brother, Paul D. Jones.
GANDY - Friends of Evelyn L. Gandy, who died Thursday, April 5, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 until the time of service at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler. Pastor Gary Dininger will officiate.
Interment will be in Evans City Cemetery.
