Raymond L. Ostrander
Raymond L. Ostrander, 94, of Chicora, formerly of East Brady, died Thursday at Chicora Medical Center.
Born Aug. 14, 1909, in Petrolia, he was the son of Clarence "Ted" and Mable Olive Snyder Ostrander.
He served in the Navy during World War II on the U.S.S. Borum in the English Channel. He received an American Area Campaign medal and a European-African Middle Eastern Area medal with one star.
He had owned and operated the East Brady Water Works.
Mr. Ostrander was a member of United Methodist Church in East Brady, American Legion Post 402 in East Brady, Kittanning-East Brady F&AM Lodge 244 and the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, New Castle Consistory.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy E. Ostrander of East Brady, whom he married on May 10, 1940; two sons, Ray Lee Ostrander of Lancaster and Randy Ostrander of East Brady; two sisters, Clara Myrtle Black of Clemson, S.C., and Ruth Holben of Butler; and three grandchildren.
OSTRANDER - There will be no public visitation for Raymond L. Ostrander, who died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
BUECHELE FUNERAL HOME, 105 Fourth St., East Brady, handled arrangements.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the East Brady Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 325, East Brady, PA 16028.
