Sarah L. (Goepfert Stutz) Braden
Sarah L. (Goepfert Stutz) Braden, 69, of Butler died Monday morning at Good Samaritan Hospice, Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot.
Born April 3, 1942, in Cabot, she was a daughter of Dorothy C. (Birckbichler) Goepfert and Franklin W. Goepfert.
She was a 1960 graduate of Knoch High School and the Mason Felix Beauty School in Pittsburgh. She had worked as a hairdresser for Bobbie's Beauty Shoppe and also as a waitress for Eppinger's Rocky Mountain Deli.
Sarah was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Butler, the Serene Valley Golf Club and various card clubs.
Surviving are her three children, daughters Sherrie Stutz of Coraopolis and Karen Stutz Gagen and Richard Adams of Butler; and son Brad Stutz and Karen Venditto of Butler; seven grandchildren, Haley Stutz of Pittsburgh, Marlee Stutz-Moses and Izabella Stutz-Lazzara, both Coraopolis, Gunner Gagen, Delaney Gagen and Jack Gagen, all of Butler, and Matthew David Stutz of Butler; a sister, Lois Rankin, and her husband, James, of Saxonburg; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Franklin W. Goepfert; and her brothers, Franklin W. Goepfert II and Richard H. Goepfert.
BRADEN - Friends of Sarah L. (Goepfert Stutz) Braden, who died Monday, May 23, 2011, will be received at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Butler. The Rev. Thomas M. Pierotti, pastor, will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to either the American Cancer Society at P.O. Box 5037, New Castle, PA 16105 or at 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205 or to Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Butler, PA 16001.
