John GILHOOLY Obituary
December 3, 1932 - December 21, 2012
John, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2012 at the age of 80 years. John was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. After marrying Aileen in 1957, the two newlyweds moved to Calgary to begin their lives together. He was a man who enjoyed life, his friends and family. John was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be remembered and dearly missed by Aileen, his wife of 55 years; his five children, Maureen Wakeford (Wayne), Bernadette Gilhooly, Ian Gilhooly, Morag Kosten (Steven), and Michael Gilhooly (Stephanie), and his six grandchildren Jennifer, Alanna, Austin, Devin, Keira, and Grace. He is also survived by his three brothers, two sisters and many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his parents Patrick and Mary Gilhooly as well as his brothers Francis, Billy and his sister Margaret. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W., Calgary, AB) today, December 27, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In living memory of John Gilhooly, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.

It is appropriate that John is wearing his "Badminton" sweater. He touched many lives through establishing and coaching his badminton club of which he was so proud.
