Clay was a real gentleman in all ways. He was always patient and kind to my kindergarteners and to me. He never complained about my messy classroom, although I know it must have been annoying at times. He was one of those people that made going to work each day a pleasure. I'm glad I got to know you, Clay.

Although I was in the 2 QOR (Reserve) and 2 PPCLI (Regular) between 1951 and 1959, Clay and my paths never crossed. I left the military for the Calgary Police Service and met Clay while he was serving with the PPCLI Officers Mess at Currie. Calgary Police senior officers were invited to become Associate Members and we all got to know him very well. He was our "go to guy". He was always available for advice or information and we all respected and appreciated him. I later fondly remember he (and Louise) due to their dedicated involvement with the QOR 2005 Reunion. My deepest condolences to Louise and all of his family.
