After a lengthy struggle with heart disease, Ed passed away at home in the arms of his beloved wife of 49 years, Elfrieda, and with his two sons Bradley and David at his side. He is also survived by his beloved granddaughter Kalyssa and numerous friends as well as his family in Germany. Ed retired from Canadian Western Natural Gas in 1995 after 36 years of service. After retiring Ed involved himself in the Canadian Utilities (South) Pensioners Association in various capacities. He had a passion for gardening, camping, fishing and curling. Ed enjoyed giving back to the community by volunteering at the Calgary Interfaith Food Bank and Heritage Park. Ed was predeceased by his father Joseph Cwynar on July 08, 1940, brother Al Cwynar on September 30, 1975 and his mother Dorothy Radmanich on March 26, 1988. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gerard's Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place.
