LIPON, Gordon David
February 9, 1954 - January 27 2017
Gordon Lipon passed away peacefully after a year-long battle with esophageal cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years Susan (nee Arkell); son Brodie Lipon; daughter Jill Steele (Derek); and stepdaughters Jennifer Leonard (Cameron), and Samantha Johnston (Nick). He is also survived by five grandchildren, his sister Karen Lipon (Cathy Hazzard), and his brother Dennis Lipon (Annie). Gordon attended Ernest Manning High School and later graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from U of C, after which he achieved a Certified Management Account designation. Gordon had many pursuits over the years including mountain climbing, scuba diving, cycling, skiing, and golfing, but the best times were spent travelling the world with Susan. Together they touched six continents, Australia to Swaziland, and many countries in between. In his final weeks he was cared for by the wonderful caring staff at Foothills Country Hospice in Okotoks.
