MORRIS, James Howard
September 27, 1953 - January 8, 2013
After running a long hard race with brain cancer, Jim crossed the finish line on January 8, 2013 at the age of 59 years. Jim was a well respected member of the Calgary Police Service. He received numerous awards and accolades over his thirty-four years of service; including the Queen's Jubilee medal. For many years he was an avid member of the running community; running many marathons, ultra marathons as well as directing and timing a number of high profile events throughout his running career. He was the much loved husband and best friend to Terry and will be greatly missed by his daughter Casey (Bryce) and his son Clinton (Grant); he was Grampa Jim to Logan, Faith and Dylan. He is also survived by his parents Marion and Norman Morris; brother Ken (Laurin) Morris; sister Deb Morris; nieces and nephews Jessica Crook, Tricia Morris and Andrew Morris; beloved dogs Loki, Joey, Taz and Sasha; and his horses too. Jim was predeceased by his best pal Boomer. A Celebration of Jim's Life will be held at the Calgary Police Service Chapel (5111 - 47 Street N.E., Calgary AB) on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com
