PORTER _ Myrtle Jane (nee Davey) Mrs. Myrtle Jane Porter (nee Davey), passed away at the Rising Sun Extended Care, Black Diamond on September 11, 2002. Born June 28, 1915 at Craik, Saskatchewan. She moved to Redcliff, Alberta in 1917 and to Medicine Hat in 1920 where she attended High School, excelling in sports, especially Track and Field. Myrtle married Henry Porter in 1936 and they moved to Turner Valley in 1952 where she resided until her passing. She was predeceased by her daughter Brenda-Jean in 1956, her husband Henry in 1990 and son-in-law Wayne in 1997. She leaves to mourn her loss, one daughter Melva Blood of Cochrane; three grandchildren, Heather (Nick) Craig of Cochrane, Brenda Mullan of Hinton and Ross Blood of Cochrane; as well as great-granddaughter Chelsea Mullan and great-grandson Gavin Mullan. A Memorial Service will be held at St. George's Anglican Church, Turner Valley, on Monday, September 16, 2002 at 2:00 p.m., The Right Rev. Douglas A. Ford officiating. If desired, in memory of Myrtle, memorial contributions may be made to the Rising Sun Extended Care, Bag No. 1, Black Diamond, AB T0L 0H0.
