LANG, Earl RuebenAugust 20, 1936 - July 23, 2010With heavy hearts we are sad to announce the passing of Earl, much loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Earl left us after a long battle with colon cancer, surrounded by his loving family. He joins his wife Marie who predeceased him in March 2009 and whom he missed dearly. We are happy to have the two of them together again as they both wished to be. Earl is survived by his children and their families, Linda, Lloyd, Russ and Karlea Gathercole, Wanda, Tim, Matt and Paula Benini, Darcy, Agnes, Thomas, Scott and Rebecka Lang, and Tena, Lorne, Marina and Kolt Wagers. He is also survived by his brothers, Ray (Joy), Ivan (Marg), Marvin (Lois) and brother-in-law Lawrence. Earl was predeceased by his sisters Bernice (Bill), Artis and his parents Andrew and Katie. Earl was born in Olds, Alberta and worked at Atco Gas as a Foreman of Engineering and Construction. He raised his family in Calgary and retired with Marie to their farm in Raven, Alberta in 1993. Here he was content to tend to his land and his animals and spend time with family and friends. He loved to travel and see the world. He was a very devoted family man and we will all miss his guiding presence. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Raven Cemetery. (Highway 54, West of Spruce View). A Celebration of Earl's life will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. from the Innisfail United Church (4720 - 48 Avenue). Linda and Lloyd, Wanda and Tim, Darcy and Agnes, Tena and Lorne;
We are so very sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I remember your Dad was always so jovial and had a smile and hug for everyone he met. We have some wonderful memories of both your Dad and Mom and are so thankful to have had them as our Uncle and Aunt.
Our thoughts are with you.
Love, Darcy and Trish Smith and family

I knew Mr. Lang as a young boy growing up in Highland Park. He always kept Darcy and I on the straight path. Their house and trailer was always open to their kids friends and made me feel part of the family. My thoughts and prayers are with the Lang family at this difficult time.

Linda, Wanda, Darcy and Tena. We are very sorry to hear of your dad's passing. Although it is always hard when you lose your parent remember that he is now in peace and will be with your mom for all eternity.

Very sorry to hear of Earl's passing, he will be missed. Earl worked with Dad (Stan) at Canadian Western Natural Gas, and became a very good friend. There are many happy memories and good times we all had with him and Marie. Now they are together again. Rest in Peace.

Earl Lang will always be remembered by me. Earl hired me at Canadian Western Natural Gas in 1988 as a Survey Assistant. He always had faith in me to do the job and he gave me a chance. Earl was a kind and honest man. Thank you for Earl Lang in my life. Rest in Peace Earl.
