George KLASSEN Obituary
June 3, 1929 - June 11, 2012
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Abraham (George) Klassen on June 11, 2012. George is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marie Klassen; his children: Anita (Peter) Verhees, Patti (Norm) Lea, Vaughn (Linda) Klassen; four grandchildren: Mark (Angela) Verhees, Cindy (Jordan) Medernach, Zach Klassen and Brett Klassen. George was born June 3, 1929 in Acme, Alberta. He served in the Army from 1950 to 1952. He married the love of his life on February 28, 1953 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and moved to Calgary in 1958 where he has resided with wife and best friend ever since. George was an incredible husband, father and friend and will be missed terribly by all who knew him. Memorial donations in George's memory may be made directly to the Bowness Seniors Association (6422 - 35 Avenue N.W., Calgary, Alberta, T3B 1S6). A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. For those wishing to pay their respects, a Visitation will be held prior to the Service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. To email expressions of sympathy: [email protected] subject heading: George Klassen. May God be with you and your family Auntie Maire! Uncle George was a wonderful man, husband and father to all that new him! We will miss the suppers with him and you and the stories he told us of him and his brothers and sisters growing up. We will be forever thankfull for this. We will miss him tremedously!
