JOHNSON, William (Bill) Arnold
July 9, 1947 - December 9, 2013
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bill Johnson on Monday, December 9, 2013 in North Saanich, BC. Bill passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family and friends. He was a loving husband to Patricia Gordon, wonderful father to Sarah, Samantha and Dean Johnson, influential brother to Elizabeth Vickery, and a dear friend to their mother Janey. Bill was predeceased by his mother Jean, father Arnold and brother Kelly. Despite his terminal illness, Bill maintained an acute sense of humour, positivity, and serenity throughout his life and death. There will be a celebration of his life in the New Year in Calgary upon announcement. In memory of Bill, we ask you to support the Victoria Hospice and Palliative Care Society so that other families can benefit from the skill and compassion provided to us by their nurses, doctors and counsellors. The website for donations is: http://www.victoriahospice.org. Thank you to everyone for the love and support that has been received. We will miss him so much.

So very sorry to hear of Bill's passing. Bill and I met at U of C, and although we had not seen each other since graduation over 40 years ago, I still remember his smile, kindness and willingness to offer help to anyone and everyone.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Bill will be remembered in the Keating household forever. He was a dedicated employee at Canadian Hydro for many years and made us all look good while he shepherded our projects through the endless regulatory maze many times over. Bill was a true friend and always found time to share his thoughts, stories and the occasional meal. I spent a lot of time with Bill at work, on the road, in the field (where he especially loved to be); and more recently at his home with his love Pat, on the bay in North Saanich. We miss him terribly and will never forget.

So sorry to learn about Bill's passing...too soon for certain. I have known Bill since childhood being one of Kelly's closest friends over the years. Bill was always the trusted strength for Kelly which he understood and we, as friends, so greatly appreciated. To all of Bill's extended family, please accept my condolences and best wishes. His memory will most definitley live on for you!

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Bill's passing. I was his TA in his first Geography course at UofC nearly 40 years ago, worked with him at Beak and for him at Canadian Hydro. Bill was a friend and will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
