I was deeply saddened by the news of Mr. Roberts passing. Carm was a great neighbor to my whole family. It was of great comfort to see Carm and Roberts family members at my Dads service last April when he passed. Carm's superb expertise made him the jeweler of choice for the company where my dad worked providing their retirement and service awards. As a young boy I appreciated him and his family for shortening my trips to elementary school by allowing me to cut through their back yard. Carm was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed. Deepest condolences to the entire Roberts family.

Dear Gert and Family,
We were saddened to hear of Carm's passing, and our hearts go out to you. Ron remembers with fondness the wonderful Ramsay/Robert's family who were neighbours on 13th Avenue. You and Carm were wonderful role models for your family, friends, and all your customers. Jean continues to wear the enagement and wedding rings Ron purchased from you some 52 years ago!
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Fondly,
Ron and Jean Fowler.

Dearest Gert and Family,
If we could see Carm now, he is standing straight and tall, a glowing vision reflecting all that was the beauty of his earth bound life. GOD called him home as we all knew he would, just as he did with John. But Carm is so alive in our hearts and our minds, the legacy freely gifted to all that he touched. The measure of a man is not calculated with dollars and cents. It is something infinitely harder to obtain. Carm did
not just talk about being a kind and gentle servant, he lived it. His love of life was magnified by the woman he chose to take his hand and join him on his journey so many years ago. Never alone without his Gert, it would have been impossible to not notice the explosion
of children that they both gathered at their feet. Showering each and every one of them with love and patience, they created what could best be viewed as the "Robert's Dynasty". Some people stand on the sidelines watching the parade go by. Carm and Gert built their own parade and with it, thousands upon thousands of incredible stories blossomed just as surely as every spring brings with it the explosion of new life. Carm's life lives on in the many hearts he touched and while it is difficult to put aside the pain, the wonderful stories of a life well lived shine far brighter. To you Gert and all of the family, thank you so much for sharing your husband, father, grandfather, businessman, watchmaker and jeweller with all of us. We were honoured to have walked beside him. GOD has welcomed Carm home.

The Mayell and Roberts families have had an enduring friendship ever since my parents moved into the suite of the Roberts family home in the early 1940,s. "Carmie" was definitely one of my father's (John Mayell) close friends as they supported each other over the years. We all have jewellry from JC Roberts Jewellers and the Calgary Board of Education Phys Ed program was well supported by Carmen's generosity! Their love of football and the Stampeders was a bond that they shared into their late 80's.
We always celebrated the birth of each of Carm and Gert's seven children as they did the birth of my brother and myself. I still have the silver teaspoons given me by them! There have been struggles for both families over the years but Carm and Dad were always there for each other.
On behalf of the Mayells I express our sympathy to the J C Roberts family...especially Gert. May you all cherish fond memories of a very special man. Blessings,
Lynda Mayell Colgan
