It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Lynn Steeves, beloved wife, world's best and most loving mom and grandma. On December 24, 2017 Tricia suffered a devastating heart attack, and fought hard for a week but extensive and compassionate care given by the Foothills Cardiac Intensive Care Unit was not enough. She passed away surrounded by her loving family and friends, after being given the last rites on December 31, 2017. Patricia, better known as Tricia, was born in Calgary on July 25, 1948. She was one of two daughters of Kathleen and Archibald McGilllis. Tricia was selfless; she always put her family and others ahead of anything else including herself. She always did everything she could to make her family happy. She loved them all more than anything. Tricia and her husband Barry, along with her sister Dianne Little and brother-in- law Dennis Little, opened GW Cycle World Ltd. in 1979. She was the backbone of the company until the day she passed. She worked every day and was the first face customers saw. She was lovingly called Mom by many customers, who looked forward to seeing her each time they came in. She did this all while caring for her husband and family on a daily basis. Tricia's spark of energy and sense of humour was shared by all and she will be missed by many. Patricia is survived by her husband of fifty years, John Barry Steeves; her daughters, Trudy and Michelle; her son and daughter-in-law Jason and Bryndan; and the newest member of the family, her granddaughter Ember; as well as her beloved dog Moose. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Dianne and Dennis Little; and nieces, Cicily and Amy. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church (1600 Acadia Drive S.E.) on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow at church.
