Marnie MOLNAR Obituary

Published by Calgary Herald from Jun. 16 to Jun. 18, 2018.
MOLNAR, Marnie Dawn
June 9, 1955 – Winnipeg, Manitoba
June 13, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta
Marnie beloved wife of Glenn Molnar and treasured mom of Quinton, Courtland and his girlfriend Sandra of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the age of 63 years. Marnie was a lifelong learner and often had her head stuck in a textbook saying "the more you learn, the more ignorant you realize you are." During and after her professional career, Marnie was able to do what she loved best. Volunteering and helping others, AKA "shopper to the stars." Marnie took great joy and celebration in all things big and small from passing her masters exams to the short lived victory of getting a word spelled correctly. Marnie always expressed that she was overly blessed when it came to friends and family. She felt she had won the lottery of life due to all of those folks who journeyed with her. Marnie is survived by her inspiring loving dad Lee Thompson; sister and her husband Nancy and Terry Garberg; kindred sister Carol Dutchak; brother-in-law Dave and his wife Wendy Molnar; mother-in-law Esther Molnar; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews who have given Marnie such joy and such pride over the years. Marnie was predeceased by her mom Liz Thompson who is missed by all every day. In recognition of those friendships please join her three boys and family at CP Canada House Spruce Meadows 4B7, Spruce Meadows Trail, Southwest Calgary, AB T0L 0X0 on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity most near and dear to your heart. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In living memory of Marnie Molnar, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park

Dear Glenn, Courtland and Quinton
Although I did not have the pleasure of meeting you I wanted to reach out to tell you how sorry I was to learn of Marnie's passing. She and I worked together on the CS Royalty Committee for a couple of years, and her contagious smile, twinkle in her eye, and desire to always make things better was appreciated by all who got to work with her. She will be missed and that bright smile will remain with me forever. With sincere sympathy, Deb Ward

Such a loss for all those who knew Marnie but most of all those who were her family. Her spunk and class made a great combination. Always encouraging words and support was what she gave me and my family, I will miss the way she spoke her truth. My condolences to Lee [sir], Glenn and her sons and all the family. Stampede will not be the same this year as Marnie will have a new view of the Show.

Our sincere condelences to the Molnar and Thompson families. Marnie touched the lives of so many people. Her zest for life, love, laughter and conversation drew people to be in her presence. Raw and real always, the most authentic and down to earth woman I ever knew. I loved her the instant I met her and knew exactly why Tim spoke so highly of Marnie and the Molnar family. We will always carry treasured memories of our times together and be forever grateful to have have done a stent of life with her. May her legacy live on and shine through all of those she touched. Lots of love, thoughts and prayers to Glenn, Quinton, Courtland and the Thompson family.

I feel lucky to have known Marnie for the past 37 years. She probably wasn't perfect but she was always so pleasant and down to earth it would be hard not to like her. I was her dentist so I only saw her a few times a year but I always knew that her appointments would be well, not a party, but a good experience. I will always have a good feeling when I think of her. I'm sure she has left good memories with so many people.
