Charles "Chuck" Andrew Perez
Corpus Christi - Charles Andrew Perez unexpectedly gained his wings on September 30, 2020. He was born on August 28, 1958, in Galveston, Texas.
Charles was incomparable and his love for family and friends was limitless. Charles grew up playing baseball, basketball, dancing, and boxing in the City Golden Gloves. Soon after graduating from W. B. Ray High School, he joined the US Army, serving three years active duty and four years as a reservist. He visited and saw places he had only dreamed of while growing up in Corpus Christi, Texas. His passion for cooking was unmatched and one of his many achievements was being awarded "Grand Champion" at the Pasadena Fairgrounds Cook-off. He volunteered with the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo for over 20 years and helped fund raise for numerous other foundations.
Charles retired in 2015 from Total Refining & Petrochemicals USA after 30 years to his and his wife's lake house in Keystone Heights, Florida. He was the epitome of a good man who did his best to live a great life and only wanted the best for his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew & Sylvia, his brother, Stephen Arnold, and his paternal grandparents, Erbey & Guadalupe.
Left to cherish the memories of Charles, he leaves behind his loving wife of 39 years, Darlene Bennett-Perez, his precious children, Jillian Andrea and Jon Andrew, and his greatest blessing of all, his granddaughter, Julia Grace Marie, otherwise known as, Papa's greatest granddaughter. Charles was the eldest of eight siblings, six of which he leaves behind along with numerous family and friends that loved him.
Services will be held Monday, October 19th, at 10AM at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery. GUARDIAN FUNERAL HOME
