Corpus Christi - It is with great sadness that the family of Cresencia R. Martinez announce her peaceful passing of natural causes at the age of 80, on Sunday, April 25, 2021.

Cresencia was born in 1941 to Francisco Rodriguez and Bibiana Lopez. She was raised in Robstown where she met her husband, Estanislado Martinez, whom she would marry in 1963. Together, they would go on to have 5 children and move to Corpus Christi, TX. She worked for CCISD for a short time and later as a housekeeper for the Corpus Christi State School, from where she retired after numerous years of service.

Cresencia went on to live out the rest of her years as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. Cresencia was a devout Catholic and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where she served several years as an usher.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Daniel Martinez; her grandson, Alex Eli Martinez; and her step-daughter, Pura Rosa Rodriguez.

She is survived by her sons, Jose Luis Martinez, Francisco Martinez, and Ruben (Lydia) Martinez; her daughter, Irma Martinez Prado; and her sister, Nona (Luis) Sanchez. She will also be lovingly remembered by her 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family members.

Public visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Monday, May 3, 2021 at Guardian Funeral Home Chapel with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic church 2509 Nogales/MacArthur. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery 8200 Old Brownsville Rd.
