George Startz Obituary

George Williams Startz, 75, passed away October 7, 2005 in Alice. Mr. Startz was born September 1, 1930 in Alice, Texas to George and Ethel Polk Startz. He was a retired farmer and retired from Flowers Machine Shop. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and good friend to all. He was preceded in death by his parents. He loved farming and in his later years working in his garden. He will be missed by everyone of who loved him.Survivors include his wife, Doris Startz of Alice; two daughters, Helen (Ross) Flowers of Alice, Texas and Ellen Startz of Alice, Texas; two sons, Leroy (Denise) Startz of Dallas, Texas and James (Elizabeth) Startz of Harlingen; three sisters, Emogene Caraway of Choctaw, OK, Dorothy (George) Parchman of Hobbs, NM., and Lois (Sonny) Mullen of Alice, Texas; four brothers, Sherman (Judy) Startz, Edgar (Joy) Startz, Ernest (Donna) Startz all of Alice, Texas; and Elmer Ray Startz of Haughton, LA.; five grandchildren.Visitation will be Sunday, October 9, 2005 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Monday, October 10, 2005 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Holmgreen Mortuary in Alice.Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at the Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel.Burial will follow in the Alice Cemetery.
