Guadalupe Munoz Campos

Corpus Christi - Guadalupe Munoz Campos, 96, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on January 1, 2021. She was born near McAllen, Texas on March 25, 1924. Guadalupe was named in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, after a near death experience at the time of birth. She married Juan D. Campos in 1942.

Guadalupe was a housewife and the Matriarch of her family. She was devoted to her Catholic Faith. She enjoyed dancing, music, gardening, shopping, gambling, traveling, crocheting, quilting, cooking, baking, partying, movies, sewing and the holidays. She was also high energy, kind, strong, amazing, funny, generous and compassionate.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, and great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Juan D. Campos; daughters, Oralia C. Herrera, Anna Maria Campos, and Lupita Campos; son, Armando Campos.

She is survived by her 10 children: Juan A. Campos, Gloria C. (Alfredo) Aguilar, Antonio (Tony) Campos, Yolanda Campos, Sylvia Campos, Alejandro Campos, Jose (Joe) Arturo Campos, Dora C. (Michael) Wilburn, Rogelio Campos and Graciela Campos.

She will be missed by her 29 grandchildren; her 47 great-grandchildren and her 3 great-great grandchildren.

Guadalupe is also survived by her 2 sisters; Fela Munoz and Irma Villarreal Munoz and her brother, Jose (Chemo) Maria Munoz.

Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, January 11, 2021 from 5:00 - 8:00 with Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 10:00 AM with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
