JOHN SOUTH Obituary

John Russell South, 78, a resident of Rockport, Texas for 13 years, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2005 at his home. He was born August 8, 1927 in San Antonio, Texas to James & Lucille South. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He met his beloved wife, Ann in San Antonio and they were married February 8, 1958. After moving to the Rockport area he worked as a Realtor. Until his recent illness he worked for ERA WindwardProperties for the past three years. John was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Virginia South and his brothers, Robert & Reagan South.Survivors include his wife Ann of Rockport; his children: Linda (Mike) Honea of Lampasas, David (Michelle) South of McKinney, Robert (Mary Jo) South of Houston, Laura Taylor of Dallas, James South and John Russell South Jr, both of Baltimore, Maryland. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, John, Stephanie, Katie, Kirstie, Lindsey, Samantha & Tyler.Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 17, 2005 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church of Rockport with Rev. Mac Keeble officiating. Entombment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas will be conducted at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be made by donations to Aim Hospice, P.O. Box 2300, Rockport, Texas 78381.
