Rogelio (Roger) Colmenero

Round Rock - Rogelio (Roger) Colmenero, 84, born in Corpus Christi, Texas passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 26, 2021, in Round Rock, Texas.

Most who met Roger knew him to be a friendly, respectful man, no matter what their calling in life. Those who grew to know him well learned he had a cutting dry wit that one could not help but appreciate; it endeared him to many. He earned his Bachelors degree in Mathematics with a minor in Physics at the University of Texas. His next phase in life he obtained his professional license as a mechanical/electrical engineer, followed by a second degree in Technology from the University of Houston. He was an adjunct instructor at the University of Houston in the Engineering department at one time. Roger had a lifelong passion for education, both formal and self-directed. He was an avid reader, learning as much as he could of various subjects. In his spare time, he found enjoyment dabbling in fencing and karate.

He is preceded in death by his wife Celia Colmenero, parents Francisco and Margarita Colmenero, brother Mario Colmenero, and sisters Adelina Alcala and Rachel Pike. He is survived by his children Grace Colmenero Coffman, David Colmenero, Glenda Colmenero, and Michael Colmenero; grandchildren Simon Coffman and wife Lindsey, Natalie Coffman, Erika Cortez and partner Julie, Lauren Ruiz, Ashley McJimsey and husband Dylan, and Adam Colmenero; as well as his two great-grandchildren.

The Family wishes to express their gratitude to Compassus and Fairway Assisted Living for the care and kindness conveyed to their Father during his time spent with them.

In addition, the family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
