Rupert Wright Obituary

Rupert Wright Jr. Corpus Christi, TXRupert C. Wright passed away on November 13, 2015, at the age of 87. Rupert was born January 1, 1928, in Baytown, Texas, to Rupert C. Wright and Ossie Siebert Wright. Rupert graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1946. He attended Baylor University where he played football and lettered all four years making all Southwest Conference graduating in 1951. Rupert met his wife Mary Ann Faulk Wright at Baylor University. He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 1950, and played football for Brooks Army Medical during the Korean War. He was employed at Reynolds Metals Company for 18 years, and then went with Reynolds International living in several different countries retiring after 30 years. Rupert was a long-time member of Parkdale Baptist working in the Christian Care Center. He also taught English as a second language at First Baptist Church. He is a member of Faith Community Church. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Ann Faulk Wright, by his children: Andrea K. Bryant (Bill), Rupert Wright III (Pam), Clyde Wright; four grandchildren: Alyson Gulley (Chris), Lindsey Elliot (Scott), Emily Mitchell (Alan), Taylor Wright (Jenna); ); brother, C.M. Wright, sister, Coleen Martin, and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at Annapolis Christian Academy.
