Samuel A. Ramón

Samuel A. Ramón died peacefully at his home on December 26, 2016, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was 66 years old. He is survived by this amazing and dedicated wife of 40 years, Mary Lou (Quintanilla) Ramón, his daughters Linda Leigh (Ryan) Barbato and Sammie Elizabeth Ramón, his granddaughter Giada Elizabeth Barbato, his mother Anita Martinez Ramón, his sister Linda Ann Ramón, and his brothers Andy (Rose) Ramón and Mario (Rosa) Ramón. He is preceded in death by his father, Guadalupe Galvan Ramón.
He was born on November 26, 1950 in Alice, Texas. He graduated from Mary Carroll High School in 1968. Shortly thereafter, he joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country in Vietnam Nam. After his third tour overseas, Sam returned to Corpus Christi where he met and married his greatest love, Mary Lou. Sam spent most of his career at the Corpus Christi Army Depot as an air craft mechanic and crew chief in the Special Operations Group. He retired in 2008.
Visitation and a prayer service is scheduled for Thursday, December 29th from 5-9 pm at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, December 30th at 9:30 am at Memory Gardens followed by graveside burial at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 11 am.

I enjoyed working with Sam. He was one of the few who understood safety aspects and engineering limitations of many jobs. I'm saddened by his passing.

One of the best next door neighbor you could have. This man was a friend from the moment you meet him. He was known throughout the neighborhood and well liked. The way we all could take note on how to be a good neighbor.
