Peggy Anderson Obituary

Peggy Anderson

Corpus Christi - Peggy Marie Boyd Anderson, 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 7, 2021. She was born in Dallas, Texas, on April 9, 1926, to Walter and Alice Boyd. She was the eldest of three siblings. She and her two brothers, Ronnie and Monte, remained close throughout their lives. Peggy was six when her father's job with SW Bell Telephone moved the family to San Antonio. Most of her young life was spent in San Antonio, a place she always loved and enjoyed visiting throughout her life. Just before junior high, her family moved to Corpus Christi, where her father was transferred to install the dial system in the region. She loved her youth group at First Methodist Church and attending Corpus Christi High School. Peggy enjoyed playing the piano, dancing, and riding her bike with friends to North Beach.

After graduation she began working with Humble Oil as a draftsman and well plotter, and loved her work. Soon she met Ted Morgan Anderson, a young, handsome, blue eyed lawyer who had just moved to town. Peggy married Ted, the love of her life, on October 21, 1950. They had four children, Mark, Christie, Jeff and Gail, and were married for 55 years when Ted went to be with the Lord on March 28, 2006. Peggy often said being a wife and mother was the joy of her life. While Peggy was a busy, yet devoted wife, mother, artist, friend and business owner, her family was precious to her and she remarked one day "The happiest time of my life was when you kids were young and we would all sit around the dinner table together and talk about our days."

Peggy was a faithful reader of the Bible and had a deep faith and trust in Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. She never missed an opportunity to tell others about the Lord. For many years, Peggy and Ted taught adult Sunday school classes at First Methodist Church. They loved discipling young adults in their faith and that time cemented many life-long friendships with class participants.

Peggy is survived by her four children and spouses: Mark and Debbie Anderson, Jim and Christine Colville, Jeff (El Jefe) Anderson, and Shane and Gail Riley; six grandchildren: Travis Anderson, Connor Anderson, Alexandra Riley, Noelle Johnson, Tessa Riley and Austin Riley; and two great granddaughters: Sophie Morgan Johnson and Olivia Grace Johnson. Her family is grateful for every one of her 94 years on this earth. One of her children's vivid memories will be thinking of Peggy in the early morning with her Bible, reading Scripture and praying for each of her family by name. Peggy was a Proverbs 31 woman, and loved the Word of God, as it was her source of strength for living a Spirit-filled life. Her children and grandchildren will always be grateful for the spiritual heritage Peggy and Ted passed on to them.

No memorial service is currently scheduled. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Samaritan's Purse, www.samaritanspurse.org.

So very sorry for your loss. Both Peggy & Ted Anderson were long time friends with my parents, Joe & Sarah Holland. Mrs Anderson were both members of club they started- Seven Arts Study Club. They studied art & numerous disciplines within various artist forms. Their club was very social & had 3 to 4 large parties.
I'm happy to know their souls are now reunited in heaven. Debbie Holland
