Bob Williams was born November 6, 1941 in Pueblo, Colorado, and he passed on April 3, 2021 in Mesa, Arizona, Bob was the only child born to Perry and Virginia Williams. He graduated from Centennial High School in Pueblo in 1960 where he was active in sports. He earned his bachelor's degree from Colorado State College in Greeley (now University of Northern Colorado), and his master's degree from Western State College in Gunnison in Guidance and Counseling. He began his long career in education in 1964 in Canon City, at the middle school, and later at the high school. During this time, he was married to Peg Williams with whom he had two children, Rob and Kim. Bob was a classroom teacher, a baseball and golf coach, a guidance counselor, and a mentor to students and colleagues alike. He was very proud of having initiated the Peer Counseling program at CCHS. Bob married Cheryl Prebble, a fellow counselor, and together they sponsored the Peer Counseling program, and provided support and wisdom to all of their counselees. After retiring, they enjoyed traveling and various adventures, eventually becoming "winter visitors" for several months out of the year in Mesa, AZ, where Bob played golf regularly. After selling their home in Canon City, they re-located to Colorado Springs. Bob had been blessed with good health and high energy, until the last few months of his life when he encountered many health challenges, succumbing to a fatal heart attack. Bob was a loyal friend, a gentleman, and a man of his word. He maintained many life-long friendships. He loved his career and was able to develop strong bonds with those whom he encountered in teaching and in coaching. Bob is survived by his wife Cheryl; by his son Rob of Los Angeles, CA; by his daughter Kim of San Francisco, CA; and by stepson Tim Prebble of Longmont. He was also blessed with four granddaughters, one grandson,; and by one great-granddaughter. Bob had a big heart, and he lived his life with great dignity, integrity, and compassion, and he was a beloved and highly-respected member of the CCHS family. At his request, there will be no services. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

We are neighbors of Bob and Cheryl in Oakmont in Colorado Springs and just found out about his passing today. We are both deeply saddened and send not only our sympathy to the family but our offer of any help we can give on the Colorado Springs place. We live a few doors down. Blessings to all and Bob will truly be missed in our neighborhood.

Mr. Williams was a source of inspiration and support during my High School years in Canon City. His legacy certainly lives on through his generous spirit and sage advice.

My best memory of Mr. Williams was in the Psychology class at CCHS. We studied psychokinesis using dice and having a lot of fun in the process. The result of our study is that someone in the room had some unexplainable power. I always wonder if it was me! It was so fun.

In Junior High he was a good gym teacher and when I left his class I was in better shape than I was when I started. He was kind and looked after every kid, including the ones who weren't especially interested in getting into better shape.

Plus, my glass is raised to all the short guys in the world! RIP, Mr. Williams.
