Sidney Six Obituary

Sidney J. Six, Sr., 76, went home to be with the Lord on May 14, 2021 at home in Penrose, CO after a 5 year courageous battle with cancer. He was born October 22, 1944 in Pueblo, CO, to Leonard Six and Oakie (Grinstead) Six. He graduated from Florence High School in 1962. Sid married Gayle (Ham) November 2, 1963. Sid has lived in Colorado most of his life. He worked for the Iron Workers Union Local 750 and Local 24. He was an iron worker for over 20 years. January 1978, he moved his family to Cody, WY, where he worked on the Buffalo Bill Historical Museum as an iron worker. He then worked in the oil industry for McCullough Oil Co. where he was a Backoff Specialist for 10 years. He returned to Colorado with his family in June 1988. Sid was an avid fisherman, hunter and loved riding his horse. He loved teaching God's Word to his Sunday School classes and being a part of Canon Community Baptist Church. Sid is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gayle (Ham): 4 childern, Syndy (Mike) Tefertiller, Sandy (Vince) Guara, Susan McMahan and Sid Jr. (Trisha Macias). 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents and 2 brothers (Allen & David Six). Our thanks and gratitude to the care givers of Sandgre de Cristo Hospice. Services are scheduled for May 20, 2021, 11:00 am at Canon Community Baptist Church, 1111 Monroe, Canon City, CO. Grave side service following at Union Highland Cemetery, Florence, CO.
