RICHARD MARQUARDT Obituary
"Together Again"
passed away early on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the age of 90. Skip was born on May 22, 1930 in North Canton to Ralph & Mabel Marquardt. After graduating for NoCa High in 1948, Skip began his career at Willis Motors in the parts dept. He entered the Air Force in Sept 1950 and stationed in Germany until April 1952. He returned to Willis Motors working there until 1954 when he left for The Hoover Company. He spent 36 years working in the Engineering Dept at Hoover's. After retirement in 1992, he worked various jobs including BobOLink golf coarse, North Canton Elks and again at Willis Motors. During his retirement years, he was active with North Canton Elks 2029 serving as Exalted Ruler, Ohio Elks serving as State Chaplain, Zion United Church of Christ, MAPS, Eagles 2223 and the North Canton Cemetery Board. He also volunteered for 25 years at the World Series of Golf at Firestone Country Club.
On June 21, 1952 Skip married the love of his life, Wanda Herrick Marquardt. They enjoyed 65 years together before Wanda passed away in 2017. During their marriage they enjoyed many vacations in Myrtle Beach, SC, trips to Germany and many others usually with family & friends. Skip is survived by his son, Dave Marquardt and granddaughter, Brittany Marquardt (Todd Cizek), daughter & son-in-law, Linda & Craig Kindy, grandsons, Kevin (Kate) Kindy and Keith Kindy (Abbi Baxter), granddaughter, Annette (Dave) Williams and their kids, Audrey, Mason & Sawyer. He especially enjoyed spending time with his great-grandkids, Marshall & Stella Kindy.
We will celebrate his life with a service on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Zion United Church of Christ, North Canton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Tree of Life program at the Canton Wilderness Center or the charity of givers choice. Arrangements entrusted to the Mark R. Vrabel Funeral Home North Canton 330-452-4041.

Skip was my father-in-law for 10 years and there will never be anyone as loving, kind, generous and forgiving as this gentle man. So many good memories. He and Wanda will always have a special place in my heart. My deepest sympathies to all of you. Comforting to know our parents are all together again looking over us in all we do. Love you all forever.

I remember Skip and Wanda from my childhood. Both were such sweet people. She is related through my grandma Florence (Mock) Russell's sister. I wish I knew more on my family's heritage. I lost contact with them years ago. My deepest condolences to the family for both Skip and Wanda.
