Barbara Emilie Royer

age 70 of Minerva, passed away at her beloved home on Sunday, January 31, 2021 and went to be with her Lord and Savior. Barbara was born in Akron, Ohio on May 25, 1950 to Lowell Newman and Esther Jo (Spinks) O'Dell. She was a dedicated employee of 25 years at Stark County Board of DD where she worked as a specialist bonding with her clients over the years and nurturing them as her own. She volunteered her free time at St. Luke's Assisted Living in Minerva, OH. Barb was an avid doll collector and trader but what she truly enjoyed were the friendships formed over the years. She really enjoyed gifting her collection to bring joy to others. Barb was a dedicated member of Faith Fellowship Church of East Rochester where she formed friendships and always put Christ first.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, David Preston Royer; and her three children: Michael Royer (his wife Joan) of Waynesburg OH, Brenda Mullaly (her husband Pat) of Hutto TX, and lastly Daniel Royer (his wife Tami) of Summerland, FL. She is also survived by her 3 beloved grandchildren: Brendan Mullaly of Madison WI, Sean and Colin Mullaly of Hutto TX; and a sister Marti Sowash (her husband John) of Salem OH. In addition to Barb's parents, Lowell and Jo O'Dell, she is also preceded in death by a brother, David O'Dell.

Barb was my volunteer at St Luke Assisted Living in Minerva and a fantastic one at that.
She was game for anything I asked her to help with, and did it with a smile and a fun attitude.
Whether it was as our craft lady at the Trick or Treat on Main Street function, or as the word puzzle lady up at the dry erase board, she was here for a good time. On a Summer Saturday morning the residents and I would pick her up with the facility bus and head out on our shopping/ lunch trip.
We were blessed to have Barb and Dave celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a vow renewal in our chapel with all of our residents in attendance.
I am grateful to be able to say that Barb was not only my volunteer but my friend.

I met Barb online in the doll community. We were close friends for many years...attended several doll shows together...shared prayer requests and family issues... dreams. She was one of the kindest..most generous women I have ever met! When I look at Barb I see Jesus...in her smile...her unwavering faith..her generosity...her encouraging words. She always ended her messages "God bless you lots...Love and Prayers".... I miss you sweet friend...but I will see you again sweet sister in Christ... Love and Prayers for all the family

Barb was a good person.
She had a sense of humor, and was the most giving person.
She had a love for our Lord that superceded anything in this earthly life.
We were caddy corner neighbors at Lake Mohawk for several years, then caddy corner neighbors here at Woodale Village.
There wasn't anything Barb wouldn't do for you.
She truly was a woman of Christ.
I will miss her very much.
We were always gabbing when the weather was good outside, and texting late at night as I have insomnia and she had trouble sleeping.
Barb you were a good friend to me, and I know that you and the Lord embraced when you arrived to your heavenly home.
I will miss you greatly, but will see you again when it's my turn to go home.
Bless you my friend

I first met Barb in Chemistry class at Green High School. We often talked about homework assignments, and I remember the week when each of us went to take our driver’s license tests. We’ve stayed in touch all these years and I always looked forward to receiving her Christmas cards (usually the first we received each year!) and hearing about her family and their activities. Barb was one of the most devoted Christians I have ever met, and she was so proud of her children, and later, grandchildren. She loved her work at Stark County, and I can’t think of any individual who could have done a better job.
I’m sorry that she won’t be joining us at the next High School reunion, but she has been reunited with Jesus - and that is the best place to be!
My thoughts and prayers are with each member of the family as you grieve her loss. I thank God that I was privileged to know her!

Dave, Mike, Brenda, and Danny...We are so sad for your loss. Barb was a beautiful person inside and out!!! We were neighbors and became close friends. She was always so nice and if you needed anything she would freely give it, advice or helping hand or whatever. Danny was always at our house! We really missed them when they moved from Canton. An awesome Christian lady that I was blessed to have in my life! Love and Prayers——-Shirley, Mike, Mikey, and Jon Boggs

I am truly heartbroken over this loss. I met Barb last summer when I started cleaning for her and Dave. I instantly loved her. We talk the whole time I clean and sometimes it took me much longer to finish then it should but never regretted the time lossed. She was a wonderful woman and I am so thankful for the time I had to get to know her. Barb had become a good friend and felt like family. I know you are up there making everyone laugh and I hope you have every doll baby up there that you could have ever wanted. I am so sorry for the family's loss and am praying for peace in all of your hearts.
