Doris Merrick Obituary
Age 87 of Boynton Beach, Fla., died peacefully due to natural causes Oct. 26, 2011 in Barrington Terrace Assisted Living under Hospice Care. She was born Jan. 24, 1924 in New Lexington, Ohio to the late Horace Elmer and Rebecca Jane (Riley) Vansickle. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Merrick; daughter, Linda Merrick; granddaughter, Randi Merrick; eight sisters and three brothers. Mrs. Merrick, a devoted wife and mother, was a faithful member of the East Rochester United Methodist Church serving on several committees until moving to Tampa, Fla. in 2000, then Boynton Beach, Fla. in 2001. She is survived by a son David Merrick of Boynton Beach, FL; a daughter Vicki Merrick of Boynton Beach; one grandson Grant Merrick of Royal Palm Beach, FL.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held Monday Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home with Harold Barber officiating. Burial will be in Moultrie Chapel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Beach County, Fla. Those unable to attend may sign the register at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com

God bless you and be with you and your family at this time of sorrow. May you lovingly celebrate her life through your happy memories of the wonderful times you shared as a family. Doris was a kind and sweet woman. I smile when I reflect on the happy memories I have with her and her family. Heaven will be brighter with her coming home.
