I am sad to hear of her loss. Although the Burrier family may not know me I knew her. She was my teacher at Brewster Elementary. While some teachers just push you through she encouraged me and believed in me. A great educator, she will be truly missed by me.
Sincerely,
Brian Loy

To Joan's Family,

My prayers and thoughts are for you all. I just found out about her passing. I only spoke with her by phone twice a year for the last several years and never met her in person. However, we always spoke about our love for the Lord and our Christian walk, after our conversation work-related. I always hung up the phone in a good mood as a result of speaking with her. She will truly be missed!

Sincerely,
Jennifer

Dear Randy,
I was so sorry to learn of Joan's passing. She always helped me out with "just the right book" whenever I would peruse her multitude of books on teaching and learning at the Stark County ESC. We both shared a passion for learning. Her smile would brighten any room, and her heart was so gracious. May God sustain you during this VERY DIFFICULT time. With love, Barb and Don Cockroft

Dear Family,
I worked with Joan at the ESC for 8 years and dearly loved her. We often would sit and share the similarities of our lives, the long commute to work, our close birthdays, our love of singing in the church choir and our dedication to our jobs. I was devastated when I heard the news of her death. My prayers are with all of you.

I had the pleasure of meeting Joan over the summer after I started working at Buehler's, and I can honestly say that she was my favorite customer! After learning that I was going to school for Special Education, she would ask me how school was every time she would come into the store. That meant a lot to me. I'll never forget her, or her kindness towards others.
You'll always have a place in our hearts at Buehler's, Joan :)

I first met Joan while taking doctoral classes at Kent State.. She was the ultimate student and had a passion for learning as well as sharing her knowledge and talents. The years passed and we remained friends- she was always willing to help in a minutes notice. She will truly be missed and impacted so many! My deepest sympathy.

To Joan's Family,
I just learned of Joan's passing, and even though I don't know you, I want to express my sincere condolences. I had the pleasure of knowing Joan and collaborating with her to provide professional development sessions for teachers for many years. Randy, maybe you remember dropping off materials for me (from Joan) in Orrville a couple of times. Joan was a loyal friend and colleague. I loved her sense of humor and will certainly miss her. What a special lady!
