JAMES HAZEN Obituary
age 81, of Minerva, died Sunday, April 11, 2021 in St. Joseph's Senior Living in Louisville. He was born April 24, 1939 in Alliance to Ralph and Therla (Gilkey) Hazen. He retired from PCC in Minerva after 29 years of service. He was also the co-owner of Hazen's Furniture and Gift Shop for 50 years. He was an auctioneer and Real Estate Salesman having owned Hazen's Auction Service for 17 years. He is a member of the Minerva First Presbyterian Church and is a US Navy Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly (White) Hazen whom he married Nov. 14, 1959; two daughters, Lori (Darrell) Lawson of Minerva, Lucinda (Donald) Peebles of Minerva; four grandchildren: Kenneth (Kristi) Lawson, Joseph (Ashley) Lawson, Samantha Jordan, James Dale Jordan and five step great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Kessler; and two brothers, Richard and Lynn Hazen.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Pastor Jonathan Williams officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday 6-8 pm and one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Thursday. Bev, I’m sorry we didn’t find out until last evening that Jim had passed. He was a great friend, just as you still are & I’ve thought of you both many times. Just had no way to keep in touch. We had many good times coming to the store & seeing one another at the Fri. night auction. I miss you. I pray that you are doing well & the family is by your side
