Dale Baxter Obituary

Dale Edward Baxter, son of Charles and Cleo Baxter, went from this life into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Aug. 31, 2018.
Brother of Millie Detlefsen (formerly of Ashland, Ohio, and Evergreen), Dale and his five siblings were educated throughout Ashland County, Ohio. Dale graduated from Ashland High School in 1947 and served with the U.S. Army in Europe during the Korean Conflict. Following his honorable discharge, Dale continued to serve in the Ohio National Guard until the mid-1960s with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
In 1956, Dale began a 37-year career with the U-Brand Corp. as a member of the International Association of Machinists. Dale was a well-liked, responsible employee who always went the extra mile. While living in Ashland, he was very involved with the Food Bank.
Following his retirement in 1993, Dale became aware of the construction of Rocky Mountain Village in Evergreen and purchased the second unit to be sold in Bergen House. Dale moved to Colorado in 1994 and lived there until the end of his life.
He was commended for his many years of service recycling for the Village residents.
Dale was loved by so many, especially by his family. He had a big heart and was always generous to a fault, supporting local, national and international charities his entire life. He was a faithful church member and never said an unkind word nor did he ever complain.
When asked about how he was, he would always say with a big grin on his face, "G-R-R-E-A-T!"
Dale lived a full and remarkable life. In addition to bicycling and kayaking pursuits he enjoyed throughout his life, at age 84, he zip lined over waterfalls in Hawaii.
On Aug. 22, 2018, Dale enjoyed a grand 90th birthday celebration with family and friends at Bergen House. Dale leaves behind many nieces and nephews and many friends in Evergreen.
A celebration of life was held at Rocky Mountain Village Estates on Sept. 11, 2018. Dale was buried at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
